NELSON DUFFLE is CEO/Chief Content Officer at Smart Content Marketing, LLC which he founded in Boston in 1997. His core areas of expertise are marketing, communications, and public relations, and he has worked on both the corporate-side and agency-side of businesses and associations throughout his career, including Fortune 500s.
Mr. Duffle got his start as a television news journalist for NBC-TV stations in Texas, winning several awards for both reporting and videography. In 1986, he built a successful advertising agency in Austin, then later relocated to Washington, D.C. as a creative director at Ehrlich-Manes Advertising. In the 1990s, Duffle held positions as Vice President of Communications for Fidelity Investments and Scudder, Stevens and Clark in Boston, before founding The Duffle Group (Smart Content Marketing, LLC) in 1997.
His creative passion for marketing and communications has helped drive programs for the National Mining Association, the National Association for Music Education, Dell Computer, Apple, Hewlett Packard, General Motors, Campbell Soup, General Motors, Bloomberg BNA, Citigate Cunningham, Kaiser Permanente, GlobalScape Software, NetSimplicity Software, Merck Pharmaceuticals, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, CRO Analytics, Associated Builders and Contractors, and many others.
In 2016, Mr. Duffle launched the ClassicRockFans.com website and podcast, fulfilling a lifelong dream of helping professional musicians who’ve brought joy to so many people on the planet, but who have seen their efforts shortchanged over the years by record companies, poor management, and deceptive contractual obligations. He has conducted one-on-one interviews with such well-known artists as Wynton Marsalis, Chicago, Jon Anderson, Mark Andes, Denny Seiwell, John Mellencamp, Heart, Steven Van Zandt, The Zombies, Three Dog Night, Randy Bachman, Carl Palmer, and Stephen Stills.

FREDDE LIEBERMAN is responsible for Digital Video Production and Photography, including all shooting, editing, and producing. In addition, he manages the daily operations of Smart Content Marketing Studios, located just north of Washington, D.C., where many of SCM’s client projects are produced.
Mr. Lieberman started in professional photography 35 years ago in Houston, Texas, after earning a visual arts degree from Southern Illinois University. Before joining Smart Content Marketing, he developed a reputation as one of the East Coast’s leading photographers, creatively capturing and telling the stories of numerous world class restaurants, major hotel chains, federal government events, and other clients.

ALENA ROSAS joined Smart Content Marketing in mid-2017 and is responsible for managing the company’s Digital Graphic Design work and Social Media.
Originally hired to develop professional E-Comms (text, photos, and video) for one of SCM’s largest clients (National Mining Association), Alena soon also proved her expertise in Social Media and Web Design. At this stage, she is working closely with senior SCM executives on List Building Programs, Lead Management Tools, and in updating the SCM website.
In mid-2018, Alena will be taking the lead role in launching a rebranding effort for SCM, which will include our LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts. An excellent copywriter with a true eye for “what works” with design elements, Alena also applies her many talents to Adobe Illustrator CC, Photoshop CC, MailChimp, MS Word, and other digital programs. Her recent development of an original infographic entitled “How to Be Safe on Ladders” was acquired by a large, national association in Washington, D.C. and mailed to more than 8,000 recipients.

JO BETSY VAUGHT is in charge of directing Client Services and Account Management at Smart Content Marketing. Her sole focus in marketing communications has proved deep expertise in developing innovative digital and nondigital marketing strategies including integrated marketing and communications plans, digital marketing planning and project management. Like Mr. Duffle, Jo Betsy has worked on both the corporate-side and agency-side of businesses throughout her career.
Jo Betsy began her marketing communications career at the NBC affiliate in Corpus Christi, TX. She spent several years in TV and radio broadcast production, rising through the ranks to senior director/producer positions. In the mid-eighties, she migrated to high-tech marketing. As National Sales/Marketing Manager for an Apple Computer 3rd-party vendor at the launch of the Macintosh, she worked and observed from the trenches developing the deep, invaluable scar tissue that continues to serve her pursuits.
Her natural curiosity and creativity led to experience in early, vanguard technologies such as digital prepress (1987-1990) and online strategy and execution (1995-present day). Jo Betsy has held a number of senior marketing communications positions at corporations, advertising agencies and high-tech firms: Jefferson-Pilot Broadcasting Company, H.E.Butt Grocery Company, Creative Marketing Associated, Inc. SicolaMartin Marketing & Communications, TSSI, GSD&M Advertising and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
